On the Job and Pre-Employment Training

In plant/on-the-job training and pre-employment training courses are available through curriculum and extension programs to meet specific company needs. The institution can make a long-term commitment to training by providing industry specific instruction as a pre-employment training program or an OJT program. In Cooperation with the Industrial Services Division of the North Carolina Community College System, free training may be available under its New and Expanding Industry Program. Other cooperative agreements (i.e., JTPA, NC Department of Labor-Pre-Apprenticeship Division) may provide subsidies to individuals being trained for specific employment. Several mechanisms exist for meeting a company’s training needs. The College is dedicated to providing the best alternative to meet individual company needs.
