Each year, Business North Carolina publishes its influential “Power List,” a statewide recognition of individuals who are shaping North Carolina’s business climate, economy, public policy, and civic leadership. Developed through extensive research, editorial review, industry insight, and interviews with leaders across multiple sectors, the list highlights executives, entrepreneurs, elected officials, educators, healthcare leaders, and community influencers whose decisions and leadership have a meaningful impact on the state’s direction and growth. The Power List is widely regarded as one of North Carolina’s most respected recognitions of influence and leadership, serving as both a reflection of current economic priorities and a guide to the individuals helping drive investment, innovation, workforce development, and long-term prosperity across the state.

SCED congratulates the following individuals from Sampson County who have earned this recognition along with the category.

John Prestage, Senior Vice President, Prestage Farms – Agriculture

Daren Parker, Owner, Parker Gas – Energy

SCED would also like to congratulate Steve Yost, President of NC’s Southeast Partnership, who is a strong partner with Sampson County Economic Development for being recognized in the Economic Development category, and Sampson County native, Ray Starling, General Counsel with the NC Chamber of Commerce in the Law category.
